How to choose LED bulbs
Whether your interest in LED bulbs is dictated by their longer life, their energy efficiency, their attractive price or another of their advantages, with us you will find a bulb that meets your needs. However, you may find that LED bulbs are still more expensive as an initial investment. To make sure how quickly they pay off, we have prepared a calculator with the help of which you will easily calculate your costs and the time for which your LED investment will pay off.
What you can do
Count all the light bulbs in your home. You'd probably be surprised how many there are. Check their power (to have a basis for comparison), their operating voltage, what socket they are mounted on. The most common for home use is E27, but there's a wide enough variety that it's good to be informed.
Choose a suitable glow color
Suitable light is extremely important for a comfortable environment, both for work and for rest. You will find more information on the subject in our blog, but the main thing you need to know is - warm light (around 3000 K) is more suitable for home conditions and relaxation. This type of light closely resembles the light emitted by incandescent bulbs. It can be used for the bedroom and the living room. Daylight (about 4000 K) is suitable for almost any room, and this color is most often used in offices, work spaces, kitchens, bathrooms. Cold light (around and above 6000 K) is generally used for industrial applications and activities that require greater concentration.
Watts (W) and Lumens (lm)
Choose your LED bulbs by the amount of light in lumens they produce, not the amount of electricity they use in watts. Although we recommended at the beginning that you check the wattage of the bulbs you are currently using, this is actually a very rough starting point. By switching to LED bulbs, it is now much more important for you, in fact, what amount of light the lighting fixture produces from 1W of consumed energy. Although it will take time to get out of the habit of measuring light output in watts, the sooner you do, the faster you'll enter the age of LED lighting.
Try
Buy 1 or 2 bulbs, test their luminosity, color temperature. Do you like them? If yes, replace them all, if not, try other LED options - you will surely find a suitable model for you.
The Life of LED Bulbs
Unlike other types of light bulbs, LED ones do not burn out instantly. It is assumed that their life is nearing the end when their luminous power drops to about 70% of the original. If the lighting time of an incandescent light bulb is about 1000 hours, then for LEDs up to about 20 times more.
If you have any doubts, don't hesitate to ask us. We will try together to find the best solution for each specific case.
